David Todd wins 2009 East Anglian Pike Championship

Knowles wins 2008 Club Championship
Darren Knowles won his first club championship on 5 January 2008 with a haul of 37-10 from the Trinity Broads complex, nearly eight pounds ahead of his nearest rival Bob Belcher on 30-00. Twelve members caught 41 fish between them totalling 195-10. Please go to Matches for a full report.

Good evening with Goodge & Bishop
PAC officers Colin Goodge (Chairman) and Chris Bishop (Press Officer) visited our monthly meeting on 2 April 2007. After a brief resume of current PAC matters, Colin entertained us with his views and a slide show about pike fishing past & present on the Fens.

Pike on the Fly - a fascinating talk from Mark Harrison & friends
Mark Harrison, manager of the Orvis tackle store in Norwich, visited our monthly meeting on 5 September 2005 to give an extremely informative presentation on the art of fly fishing for pike. This particular strand of our sport is growing in popularity, and Mark & friends described and demonstrated several of the techniques that pay dividends. A lively and informative evening.

John Currie becomes 2005 East Anglian Lure Champion

Same again for 2005-06
At the Annual General Meeting on 4 April 2005, the previous officers were all re-elected for another term. Jimmy Minors and Martin Rowland stood down as committee members, and both were thanked for their service to the Club over the years. Please go to Committee for full details of the new committee. The membership fee for the new season was maintained at last year's rate of £40 and is now payable - all existing members will receive a membership renewal form in the next week or so.

Living legend Dave Horton enthralls audience
The accomplished piker and author Dave Horton gave an enthralling talk and slide show at our Monthly Meeting on 7 March 2005. Dave compiled the excellent "Ultimate Pike" and is a regular contributor to the national angling press. He recalled the story of his life of piking and shared a few secrets from his past. All in all a most enjoyable evening - thanks, Dave.

Stephen Beckham becomes Club Champion

Stephen Carter sets new personal best
If ever there's a good reason to carry a camera with you, it's when you're fishing in case you land a fish worth remembering. And that's just what happened to Stephen Carter when fishing on the tidal River Yare in mid-November 2004. Sadly we have no photo to show you of Stephen's new personal best, but the memory of his 27-04 will live with him forever - or at least until he catches a bigger one!!

Stephen Harper speaks at October meeting
Local pike expert, illustrator & author Stephen Harper gave a talk to members on 4 October 2004. Stephen is credited with catching the fish known as "Dora" in January 1983 at 32-09 which two years later become a record-breaker for firstly Neville Fickling at 41-06 and then Dennis Amies at 42-02. Stephen's titles include "A Line on the Water", "Angling Afloat" and the classic "Broadland Pike" and he re-lived several of the captures described in those pages. Thank you, Stephen, for a memorable evening.

New Chairman & Membership Officer appointed at AGM
A well-attended AGM on 5 April 2004 saw Stephen Roberts take over as Chairman from Colin Bradfield, and Kevin Edwards succeed Alan Parker as Membership Officer. The Club is indebted to the retiring Officers for their service over the years. Alan Parker continues as a member of the Committee.

New club record for Andy Frost
Andy Frost was quick to get back on his beloved River Yare after the recent snow falls, and was rewarded with a new personal best and club record of 33-06 on 1 February 2004. Supported by ace netsman Jem Smith, Frost soon had control of this fine specimen which is the first "thirty" recorded by a current club member. Frost's Guiding Services does it again!
Club treasurer Richard Polley has Broadland expert Andy Frost to thank for his second "twenty" of the season, taken on 7 December 2003. Following a fruitless morning nearby without a sniff on the floats, Frost manoevred his boat into an inviting swim on the tidal River Yare and Polley's legered lamprey was soon away. Steve Hutchens leads the way
